When did you had the idea to start blogging ?

I began seriously blogging back in October 2005 when I started a new job and was surrounded by would-be bloggers who used their blogs to collect interesting tidbits of daily info. Every morning they would share their newest finds with the group.

Would you like to share with us the URL of your first post?

http://fuzzz.gaulin.ca/2005/10/18/freshly-cleaned-fire-place/ - not only was it a pretty useless post but it didn't have much content either. They got progressively better.

Why do you blog?

Friends, networking, verification of information, recognition? I started to blog seriously due to my peer group. I found it a lot easier to keep up the rhythm of posting when I knew I would have a group of readers. Once you know you actually have people reading your stuff it becomes a lot more fun.

What´s your inspiration source?

Daily life, friends, worldwide web... My main inspirations are technology and the web. Anything that I come across that makes me want to remember it is usually good blog content. I will post about everything from photos to videos to articles on almost any topic. I think my main theme is Web & Cyber Culture.

What purpose/intent do you want to achieve with your blog?

Interesting content that people actually read. The best thing for me about blogging is when I post an entry and can actually see that it generated a traffic spike. Seeing my Feedburner RSS subscriptions grow is lots of fun. Having people read your stuff makes it worth investing the time to blog.

Choose one sentence to describe your blog?

Fuzzz is a collection of interesting links, content, and other odd findings from around the web.

What do you like most on blogging?

Communication, participation on different projects... I like the fact that my blog is an outward facing repository of knowledge. I regularly go back to old entries as a point of reference or as a memory aid. If I see something online and think to myself that I may need to know that information at a later date I usually blog it. The nice part comes when I'm able to refer others to that same content.

How much time do you spend on blogging?

I'm always on the hunt for new content. In a typical day I probably spend an hour or 2 in a blogging mindset.

The top 3 blogs you read?

I read way too many blogs on a regular basis but Engadget ( www.engadget.com ), The Unofficial Apple Weblog ( www.tuaw.com/ ),
and BoingBoing ( www.boingboing.com ) rank up near the top consistently.

How do you generate traffic?

Generally I rely on my readers to cross link and share content. If I have a good entry I will throw it into my del.icio.us bookmarks and make sure it is tagged in Technorati. Being on top of new social services like MyBlogLog helps too. The hardest thing about blogs is finding ones that have content that appeals to you.

Do you use any widgets? which ones?

I like to keep my site pretty clean and don't tend to use a lot of widgets. I use a handful of Wordpress plugins mainly to pull in Flickr pictures and do really simple operations. I'm of the mind that less is more.

What is the reason for visitors to return to your blog and become readers?

Content. I'm a firm believer that without appealing content you're wasting your time.
