merkal2005: Hi Gobala, you do a lot of things online. What is what you do exactly? What is your business?

gobala: My main business model is to produce and market fresh and interesting information products, mainly in the form of e-books, systems and software. I also maintain several blogs which serve as a traffic-generation tool to my other websites, and gives me an opportunity to connect with my readers and potential customers.


merkal2005: When did you start making money online? What was the main motive?

gobala: I started making money online in 2001 by accident. I had a popular "vintage guitars" website and I realized I can make money from this website. So my first few attempts failed, and then something worked. I started making between $300-$400 a month selling physical products as an affiliate. Although I started my first website just as a hobby, the idea that you can make money online and quit your day job only made sense to me later. I quit my job in 2005 and I've been a full-time Internet marketer since.


merkal2005: When did you start blogging? When did you discover WordPress?

gobala: I started blogging early 2006. I discovered WordPress a year earlier but it was too technical for me and I gave up. I gave it another shot a year later and decided to help others get started with WordPress as well, and EasyWordpress.com was born.


merkal2005: How did you develop WordPress Adsense System?

gobala: I developed it based on my own experiences trying to create blogs and make money from Google AdSense. It wasn't a very straightforward process, so I thought "What if I can streamline the entire thing and make it easier for others?"


merkal2005: What are your suggestions to new bloggers for 2008? Which areas should they focus?

gobala: I think many are becoming jaded with blogging. They keep on creating new post with great content, but after months their income has not improved as much as they thought it would. I think "bloggers" and "blog owners" are two very different thing. Don't just be a blogger, be a blog owner. Use blogs as your traffic generation tool but have other monetization options besides AdSense and ads. You can create your own product or software, and market it via blogs. That way you don;t need to drive yourself mad trying to produce content every day!
