staceyMy name is Stacey Douglas, male, age 35, business and IT consultant by day job, writer/painter/creative person and geek by night. I live in Nashville, TN, where I work as a systems analyst/designer for NASBA (the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy- say that five times fast). I'm a born and raised Tennessean, and if you don't hold that against me, I promise not to hold it against anyone that they're not from here... :).
Halil: Why did you start blogging?

stacey: I felt like I had a lot of useful experience to share from my career. I keep seeing people make similar mistakes at each company I work at, having to relearn the same lessons over and over... I wanted to share what I see. Hopefully I save some folks out there a lot of trouble.

Halil: The top 3 blogs you read?

stacey: Lifehacker is great, and an essential for everyone- you just have to wade through to the pieces that apply to you.

How to Change the World, Guy Kawasaki's blog, is... interesting. You never know if you're going to learn something highly valuable or maybe hear something about his dry cleaning. Sometimes both.

I'm also fond of Thinking Faster (http://workingsmarter.typepad.com/my_weblog/), just because it's amazing how similarly Jeffrey and I think.

Halil: The top 3 post you write?

stacey: Project Management, Business advice, and IT management advice. I try to throw in useful tools and references as well.

Halil: Where do you get your inspiration from to write?

stacey: My work, digg, books, other bloggers in similar areas. Often reading one blogger's ideas regarding a totally different area will lead me to something. I've applied a lot of GTD ideas at the company level for article ideas. I've also applied dating advice to wooing customers. It varies a lot.

Halil: Choose one word to describe your blog?

stacey: Unpretentious
