merkal2005: Hi Jess, please tell us about yourself dragonsinn: I read, I write -- as a writer, those two activities are absolute requirements! I guess I'm a practical dreamer, and can say with certainty that I'll be a published novelist one day. I was studying mass communications for a while, until I realized I just couldn't ever see myself being in the industry. Took a long while to go for the one thing I truly wanted most. merkal2005: How is the preparation of your first book going? What is it about? dragonsinn: I spent most of 2007 on my first book. Sent it out to agents. Sent it out to smaller publishers. Things are slowly happening, but I'm not celebrating until a contract is signed. I'd say it's a modern love story. I don't like to discuss details or anything til the work is out...just my modus operandi :) merkal2005: When did you start blogging? dragonsinn: I first started blogging in 2003. The posts were mainly garbled rambles (and I wasn't using a blog publishing platform). Opened a "proper" one on BlogSpot in 2005. Went on to WordPress after that. merkal2005: You have so many blogs. How do you manage to update them regularly? Do you have time to sleep? dragonsinn: I treat my blogs more as websites -- so I update them whenever I feel like (which kinda translates to a very erratic/leisurely pace most of the time). Sleep is a not-so-fortunate area in my life. I find it hard to switch my brain off on many occasions. There's always some idea or something, to think about and/or ponder over. merkal2005: What are your expectations for 2008 and onwards? dragonsinn: To chug along and keep going, coz I believe I'm more or less in the right direction. I probably could do with learning some patience though.
