hansfeldmeierInterview with Hans Feldmeier. Deputy Head at the Secondary School Realschule Regenstauf, COMENIUS Promotor and ETWINNING Ambassador.

emmaalvarez: I got to interview Mr. Hans Feldmeier, Deputy Head at the Secondary School Realschule Regenstauf (near Regensburg), teacher of Economics, ICT, Geography and Social studies,
Inspector for state examination in Geography at University of Regensburg, Author of school books in Economics, COMENIUS Promotor for the German National Agency, and eTwinning Ambassador for the German National Agency.

Mr. Feldmeier, how high is the standard of education in european students?

hansfeldmeier: Hi first of all!
Okay, as to your request, in the past 5 years Iīve been almost in all European countries and I visited all kind of schools. The standard of education must be top in the northern countries, because teachers and students are using electronic environments like CMS platforms ... and they are promoting a lot of ICT key competences.

emmaalvarez: Do you think that online education can substitute the teachers in the future?

hansfeldmeier: Well, to be present as a teacher is an advantage. But, blended learning is part of lectures in companies and in universites currently. And that should be one puzzle of life learning learning in the future.

emmaalvarez: What are the pros and cons of studying online instead of attend classes in the traditional way?

hansfeldmeier: As to +:
You can have a look a lot of times, maybe in a tutorial. Screencast must help.
As to -:
There is no personal contact - Itīs not exciting!

emmaalvarez: When should a kid begin to use a computer?

hansfeldmeier: Well, I think I cannot give you an exact answer. If a child wants to do it early, you should promote it being a parent. But you should not force it. Generally, maybe at the last year of Kindergarden.

emmaalvarez: What do you think about those people who criticize internet while they let their children stay all day watching TV?

hansfeldmeier: This people should think about the future of their kids. If kids only watch TV, they will have problems to communicate and have social contacts and even more...
This people should not have kids!!!

emmaalvarez: And the biggest fun nonsense that you found in an exam?

hansfeldmeier: A lot of fun ... I have to think about!
Hahahahahahha......... funfunfun......
Maybe to ask about the highest mountain in Europe and a pupil tell you about a mountain in Holland (105 m high) ....

emmaalvarez: What is the best and the worst of working in education?

hansfeldmeier: Best one:
earning good money and get in touch with motivated students
Worst one:
getting to know a lot of colleagues - not really willing to work as to learning environments like blogs, platforms, wikis ...

emmaalvarez: Thank you very much, Mr. Feldmeier. As a final question, please tell us about your blogs and what can be found there.

hansfeldmeier: Thanks as well!
I always try to improve my blogs with info about innovating digital teaching methods or even gadgets.
Take care
