Euripidis: Why did you start blogging?

Zhu: Two main reasons I guess :

1) First, I wanted to share my experience as an immigrant in a new country. Moving across the Atlantic Ocean was a major challenge, as I was alone and had no one to refer to. Culture shock, the immigration process itself, getting a job, settling after backpacking was worth telling about. Or so I thought.

2) Second is, I have always loved writing in French, but I wasn't sure how I would do in English despite the fact I'm now bilingual. I wanted to challenge myself and it's a great experience so far.

Euripidis: Where do you get your inspiration from to write?

Zhu: I actually have a list of songs I like to listen when I write, depending on the subjects. Travel songs like Manu Chao for travel posts, political songs from Europe or Latin America for society posts, pop music when I write about North America...etc.

I know, it's weird.

Zhu: Different !
