zephyr1: When did you become aware of Climate Change?

merkal2005: I had always been reading some magazines or watching some documentaries on Discovery Channel and National Geographic about the Climate Change. But frankly speaking i did not take it too seriously until last summer. The weather was very very hot last Summer in Istanbul. This year it is expected to exceed last year.


zephyr1: What can you do to help reduce your carbon footprint?

merkal2005: I think we should think twice when printing a document. Under our signatures on every e-mail, we should write "please consider environment before printing". We should spread the word, use celebrities to attract attention of young kids to climate change. Also government should promote and charge less money for water bills if a limited amount has not been exceeded. Governments should increase car taxes and spend much more money in public transportation. Actually there are thousands of things that we can to prevent Climate Change. As bloggers we can put the pressure on the governments who are not signed Kyoto protocol yet (including USA if i am not mistaken)
