jkeaganAn interview with an interested nad talented young photographer.

thejunkyswife: Where do you get the inspiration for your photographic compositions?

jkeagan: My inspiration usually comes from the desire to portray my subjects in a way that expresses an emotion or concept. Sometimes I get my inspiration from my artistic vision or what I am feeling emotionally at the time. Thus most of my work consists of flowers and plants, they are quite "emo" a lot of the time.

thejunkyswife: What is your training? You use a lot of interesting tools in rendering your images.

jkeagan: I have no formal education or training in photography at all. Just a a few good cameras and my natural perspective in vision. Although I am currently beginning to learn about Photoshop CS2 so that I may master it.

thejunkyswife: Are you interested in tattoo art? I'm asking because I have some connections to the tattoo community, and I'm always looking for interesting young artists to feature in the magazine I work for...

jkeagan: I surely am interested.

thejunkyswife: Tell me about your choice for the title of your blog.

jkeagan: One Day At a Time was inspired by a song titled the same. Right before I created my blog, I was listening to it and it struck me as a profound message; to live one day at a time. So I created my blog with that in mind, thus the title. I believe that life can be fully enjoyed if you live it one day at a time.

thejunkyswife: How does your spirituality intersect with your artwork?

jkeagan: Some of my photos have titles that can be recognized immediately as spiritual or Christian. Some of my portrait work includes photos of people that are fellow Christians. I create photos related to Christianity with the utmost respect.
