Siegler - Paris LemonPeopleized by: Halil - Sunday, 07 September 2008 Name: MG Siegler, Male, 25, USA Describe your person! I'm a tech-fanatic and movie buff. I worked in Hollywood for a couple of years before getting into the Internet industry...blogging is still just a hobby. Euripidis: Why is the name of your blog Parislemon ! M.G. Siegler: Kind of a long story, it has to do with an old Compuserve screen name I had. I had wanted ParisGreen but that was taken...as was ParisRed, ParisYellow, etc. I like lemons, so it became ParisLemon. Euripidis: Describe your blog! M.G. Siegler: My blog handles a pretty wide scope of topics but the majority are definitely tech-related. I talk about Digg a lot as I was a top user on the site before they took down the list of top users. Euripidis: Which category would you choose for your blog? M.G. Siegler: I would have to say Tech or Miscellaneous. Euripidis: Why did you start blogging and what do you want to achieve with this blog? M.G. Siegler: I started blogging almost 2 1/2 years ago. At the time I think it was a hot buzz-word and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I started out writing mostly (what I considered) humorous things and some personal blurbs about my life. Euripidis: What is your motivation to continue blogging? M.G. Siegler: Definitely the readers. My readership has been going up rather quickly since I've dedicated more time to blogging. It's nice to get comments and to see the number of hits go up. Euripidis: What experience did you made with your blog(reactions from reader) and which where your acmes? M.G. Siegler: Sorry, not sure I understand the phrasing of this question. Euripidis: What kind of people read your blog and who should read it? M.G. Siegler: I think mostly peers on Digg read it and now the online community MyBlogLog has brought a lot of new readers. I would say it is accessible to anyone who had some interest in tech, movies, music, politics, sports, or the like...and especially people who like all of those things (like me). Euripidis: Where do you get your inspiration from to write? M.G. Siegler: Reading the news/stuff on Digg/and blogs. Also magazines, there is believe it or not some great content out there that isn't online...yet. Euripidis: Which of your blog posts is the most valueable for your readers and why? M.G. Siegler: Hmm, not really sure. The recent one about the new U.S. Dollar coins hits the front page of Digg and stayed in the top 10 stories most of the day. I got about 60,000 hits in one day on that one story, so I'd say that was pretty popular. Euripidis: Would you like to interview someone? M.G. Siegler: I would love to interview someone like film director Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain)...I love the way he makes movies. His attention to not only the visual but the audible as well I think is fantastic. Euripidis: If this interview could be read by millions of people, what would you want to tell them? M.G. Siegler: That we're still at the tip of the iceberg in terms of what the Internet is going to become. M.G. Siegler´s page: http://www.parislemon.com 2008 powered by Peopleized!
